  • General Counsel, Lucas County Court Juvenile Division
    Responsible for administering and supervising the daily legal operations of the Juvenile Division, to include providing legal direction and advice to all court departments. Works as a personal and confidential employee for Juvenile Court Judges. Performs legal research and provides writing, consulting and editing assistance to the judges in drafting judicial opinions. Analyzes legal issues at the direction of the judges and tracks motions, objections, and other filings. Stays up-to-date on case law, statutes, rules, and regulations; keeps the judges informed and makes recommendations regarding changes in court protocols necessary to implement changes in the law. Reviews objections to magistrate's decisions, motions to set aside interim orders, and other filings, and briefs issues identified therein.

  • OCLRE Program Coordinator
    The Ohio Center For Law-Related Education seeks applicants for the position of Program Coordinator. This position manages and coordinates Ohio Center for Law-Related Education (OCLRE) programs and events as necessary to fulfill OCLRE’s mission and strategic goals.     Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor is accepting applications for the position of Judicial Attorney in her chambers. The position requires a two-year commitment. 

    Judicial Attorneys review and research a variety of motions and memoranda in support of discretionary jurisdiction and analyze the claims presented in those pleadings. In addition, Judicial Attorneys research and draft merit opinions at the direction of the Justice. 

    The successful applicant will be a licensed attorney with at least two or more years of experience as an attorney. Prior clerkship experience is strongly preferred. The abilities to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently are required. Superior research, analytical, and writing abilities are mandatory. All candidates must be admitted to a bar at the time of their application. No exceptions will be made. Applicants will not be considered unless presently admitted to a bar and in good standing. 

    This is a State of Ohio, exempt, unclassified position. The starting pay is based upon the applicant’s date of admission to a bar. This position has the following pay structure with a competitive benefits package:
