Summary

In this 1-hour CLE, the panel discusses two civil cases surrounding the ownership of MLB history-making home run balls. First, they will discuss the Popov v. Hayashi case, which involves the legal battle that ensued from the fight over Barry Bonds' single season home run record-breaking 73rd home run in 2001. They will also discuss the case of Matus v. Golden Auctions, Inc., which involves litigation over Shohei Otani’s historic 50/50 record-setting home run in 2024.
