Annual Awards Presented by the Toledo Bar Association
The Toledo Bar Association presents three awards annually for service to the association and the community. TBA members can nominate a colleague for an award at any time by sending an email to TBA Executive Director Brad Lagusch (blagusch@toledobar.org). The Robert A. Kelb Distinguished Service AwardThe Kelb Award is presented by the Board of Directors of the Toledo Bar Association to a member of the TBA who has unselfishly served the Bar Association and its members. The award is named after Robert A. Kelb, who practiced law in Toledo for 58 years. Mr. Kelb’s dedication to service was demonstrated by his involvement with many organizations – fraternal, professional and charitable. In 1943, Robert Kelb was elected as President of the Lucas County Bar Association and in 1968 served as President of the Toledo Bar Association. In Memory of Robert Kelb, this award is presented annually at the Holiday Luncheon. The recipients are persons who consistently devote time and talents in service to the Toledo Bar Association through work on its various committees.
Trustees AwardThe Trustees Award is given by the Toledo Bar Association Board of Directors to a young member of the Association who exemplifies professionalism in the practice of law and who has demonstrated a commitment to improving the legal profession through active involvement in the Toledo Bar Association.
Community Service AwardThe Community Service Award is given by the Toledo Bar Association Board of Directors to the Toledo Bar Association member who demonstrates a commitment to the community by unselfishly giving of his or her time and service to community organizations or community activities that are not law related.
